Wedding Centerpieces
The wedding centrepieces can be fun and playful but
they, just like any other part of the planning process, can be a
great source of stress for the couple deciding on what they would
like the table decorations to look like. Wedding centrepieces are
also very costly if they are ordered.
The good news is that some of that stress can be avoided by making
beautiful, do-it-yourself wedding centrepieces that are sure to
dazzle and impress.
Fruit is lively and refreshing for wedding centrepieces. Fruit
is vibrant and fresh and can smell amazing. One option is to use
just fruit arranged in a very elegant way or you can use fruit with
just one or two flowers. If using just fruit on its own, you can
arrange it to look like just about anything you want such as a small-tiered
wedding cake, for example. If using fruit combined with flowers,
you can have whole lemons (or any other kind of fruit you wish)
to surround one or two flowers (such as calla lilies.)
To achieve this look, place one small vase inside of a larger one.
Place the flowers in the small vase and fill the larger vase with
the fruit. You can also use sliced fruit when decorating your wedding
centrepieces this way. It may be easier to use florist's foam to
insert your flowers into. Cut your foam just slightly smaller than
the large vase so the slices will stay in place.
Candles are great to use as wedding centrepieces. They can be distributed
around the floral arrangements to lend a romantic ambience or they
can be placed in the middle of smaller flowers. Scented candles
can be a really nice touch as they will fill the air with a lovely
scent again adding to the wedding atmosphere. If you're using scented
candles, use a scent you love as well as one that won't be overwhelming.
A great way not to overpower the space with scent is to use scented
candles as well as non-scented. Candles of different heights also
make for elegant wedding centrepieces. Use as many or as few as
you would like just make sure they are not the same height to create
this romantic effect. Floating candles also make for very romantic
wedding centrepieces. You can spruce these up a bit by adding food
coloring to the water, or putting coloured stones or marbles into
the water.
Dried flowers are a great option for anyone who wants to create
their own wedding centrepieces. They can be done ahead of time and
there's no need to worry about drooping, wilting flowers. And they
can be used in a number of ways. Arranging them in a wreath around
a large candle is a great idea. The petals can also be spread around
the table amongst votives or tea lights. It can also be quite charming
to arrange the dried petals in a small bowl to give a potpourri
feeling.
There are many wonderful options for wedding centrepieces that
will delight your guests. If you want to do it yourself, you can
save a little money while creating the exact centrepiece perfect
for your wedding.
